We totally love our new yard, but we are finding that it requires some heavy duty maintenance. So that we do things right the first time, we consulted a gardener to help us spruce up the current landscaping and incorporate edibles to the vast array of greenery on our property (you can watch our mini-interview below). We want to add raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and blackberries as well as a couple of fruit trees. Lisa also wants a cutting flower garden. The challenge: We have lots of shade and very poor soil.

One of the few sunny areas is filled with shade loving plants. Future site of blueberries. |

This area by the house was filled with hydrangeas when we moved in- we moved them and put in a kitchen garden. |
