A Night of Halloween

The holiday that inspires the artistic, creative, or ghoulish side in all of us has once again haunted the autumn season.  Like a ghost it swept through our lives and out again with remnants of costumes, bags full of candy, and pictures to remind us of all the fun we had.

Inside, the house was full of haunted, crafty creatures as well as spiders and webs hanging from the dark and light places.
Mice scampered, bugs creeped and bats hung in the darkness.  A crow kept watch over the happenings to make sure the haunting was complete.

Outside, the children, transformed by the spirit of Halloween, took on new appearances.  Ella became Barbie, Victoria looked scarily like Sally from 'The Nightmare Before Christmas', Shea took on the cover of a Transformer, and Egan, he turned into a skeleton.

The night started with a neighborhood carry in dinner and party, then characters small and large, sweet and scary ran house to house to collect their treats.

Back at home, masks off, the older kids counted, bargained and traded.  Egan went to bed with visions of candy swirling through  his head.
